Be the best version of you

Why do we feel guilty if we do something for ourself on occasion? Why do we not make ourselves a priority? I have been asking myself this question for a while and have decided to take action.

We are still early in the New Year which makes me feel like I can press the reset button and start the year how I mean to go on.

So I’ve got my trusty notepad out and I’m writing a list. Lists help to cleanse your mind, to get things written down allows you to organise and makes your ‘to do’s’ more obtainable.

Think about what activities help you to relax. These activities will help you to restore your energy levels, allows you to be in the moment and to ease any stress you may be holding on to.

Some examples:

  • Meditation - there are lots of great free apps available
  • Be creative - explore your creative side try drawing, painting, sewing...
  • Read - get lost in a book
  • Listen to music - music is great therapy for the soul

Invest in yourself. Write a list of all the things you’d like to do/achieve. These may include:

  • An activity you’d like to try or return to - Pilates, Yoga, Kickboxing, a Dance class...
  • Learn a new language - challenge your brain
  • Travel - explore a new destination
  • Take yourself out of your comfort-zone

It's okay to take little time out of your busy life just to focus on you.

You are important, so take some time out.
