5 Reasons to Become a Pilates Instructor

The health and wellness industry is growing rapidly, which has seen an increased demand for qualified Pilates Instructors worldwide.

If you have a passion for Pilates and are thinking about taking the leap and becoming a Pilates Instructor, here are 5 reasons why you should register onto a course today!

Get the Work/Life Balance

There isn't a typical working day for a Pilates Instructor, you have the power to be in control of your working hours. Most instructors are freelance which means you can teach around your family and other commitments. You have the ability to be our own boss whether that’s working in other establishments or setting up your own classes.

Variety of Career Opportunities

Pilates Instructors can find employment opportunities in the following places (to name a few):

  • Setting up your own Pilates classes in local venues
  • One to One clients
  • Pilates Studios
  • Leisure centres and gyms
  • Private health clubs
  • Schools
  • Corporate companies
  • Holiday resorts
  • Cruise ships

You can work from your home, local venues or travel aboard.

Good Earning Capacity

You can earn between £15-£60 per hour outside of London and more within. Your annual salary will depend on where, when and what type of work you do, for instance if you set up your own Pilates classes and private clients you will set the price of the sessions.

Rewarding and Satisfying Career

Being a Pilates Instructor is an extremely rewarding, sociable, positive and life-affirming way to earn a living. Encouraging others to move well and change their posture can have a huge impact on their lifestyle often alleviating pain and preventing injuries. How great is it that you can make that difference!?

Suitable for All

If you are motivated and have a passion for Pilates then you have what it takes to become an instructor. You don’t need to have any experience in the fitness industry nor do you need to be super fit and flexible. Pilates has no limitations or biases; on gender, age, experience or abilities. Pilates Instructors are human too.

All Pilates Instructors start their journeys for various reasons, some may have been a student that benefited from the method and want to share their knowledge and help others. Others may work in the corporate industry and want to work alongside this to balance their sedentary job. Whatever your reason to become and instructor, the only prerequisite is that you are good with people.
