"Pull up, pull in & breathe"

I was introduced to Pilates in 2005 as part of a rehabilitation programme and it was paramount in helping me to recover from several injuries. Prior to this, I was a fan of high impact and high intensity exercises, but my injuries would not allow me to continue with this type of exercise, so I continued with Pilates. I quickly grew to love Pilates, realising the endless benefits that it provided to other areas of my life. It helped to combat both the mental and physical strain of working office based in a fast-paced corporate environment, increased my awareness of my posture, and helped me to sail through two pregnancies.

I finally took the plunge to change my career in 2015 and completed my Level 3 Mat Pilates qualification at Pilates Advanced Training School which is based at PATS PILATES, Milton Keynes. Prior to this, my experience of Pilates had been predominantly gym based, and I was pleasantly surprised at how different the classes at PATS were. They were very informative with a lot of variety (thanks to the endless props in the studio!) and tailored according to the clients’ needs. Therefore, I was delighted to be given the opportunity to join the team at PATS and I have been teaching (and learning) ever since!
