Pilates from the other side of the Mat
Have you ever thought what it would be like to be on the other side of the mat? To be able to deliver a Pilates class and help others feel stronger, motivated and more confident with their bodies.
Many of our students at the Pilates Advanced Training School have been Pilates class attendees who have experienced the benefits of Pilates firsthand and felt inspired to teach themselves.
I personally started Pilates at the age of 14 due to a sports injury, the rehabilitation enabled me to return to my sports and at the age of 18 I decided to train to become a Pilates Instructor.
Being a Pilates Instructor is a very rewarding job especially if you are a people person. You get to meet lots of wonderful people and help them achieve their aims and goals. These aims and goals vary from person to person which allows you to adapt and be creative with your teaching.
As a tutor at the Pilates Advanced Training School I see how daunting it can be for trainee instructors to start teaching however with the support from the tutors and the material taught all trainees have passed feeling competent and excited to teach their first classes.
Benefits of being a Pilates Instructor:
- Rewarding - Pilates is known for its rehabilitative benefits, seeing the changes in your clients which helps to improve their lifestyle and manage their aches and pains is very rewarding. Definitely job satisfaction.
- Flexible working hours - most Pilates Instructors are freelance therefore you can choose the hours you work to fit around your family and other commitments.
- Be your own boss - whether you choose to teach freelance in studios/gyms or set up your own classes, the opportunities are endless.
- Earning ability - You can earn between £15-£60 per hour outside of London and more within. Your annual salary will depend on where, when and what type of work you do, for instance if you set up your own classes and private clients.
- Meeting the public - if you are a people person then this is the job for you.
- Travel - the qualification allows you to work abroad and on retreats
We’d love to talk to you about the courses we offer and invite you into the studio to see the learning environment. If you are passionate about Pilates and would like to discuss you next career move contact us today.
